Enclosed Vehicle Transport is the most protective form of auto transportation available. However, there are different types of enclosed trailers, and different types of equipment within the enclosed space.
The biggest Enclosed trailers are usually only able to haul six vehicles at a time. These are hauled with a semi tractor, and typically have an upper and lower deck.
A good amount of the enclosed division of car hauling takes place with a 2-3 car trailer and a 3500 dually pickup truck.
Lift Gates, Race Ramps, or extended metal ramps are essential to an enclosed hauler. The reason being that often these trailers are used to haul exotics such as Vipers, Corvette's, Ferrari's, Lamborghini's and so forth,
all of which have a very low profile. The type of ramping system that the particular truck uses may be of concern to you if you are hauling a low clearance auto. Be sure to check with the trucking company to ensure they have
the necessary equipment to handle your auto.
Because something like only 2% of all auto haulers on the road are enclosed units, and because they have limited space, you will pay around 30-35% more for an enclosed auto shipment on average.
